Dylan often walked around New Quay, gossiping with the locals, picking up
material for Under Milk Wood. He also loved walking through the fields
and lanes of Ceredigion - especially if there was good beer and conversation to
be had. He liked to visit the pubs in Felin-Fach, Llangeitho, Llanon and
Llangrannaog, and possibly walked out to Llwyndaffydd to share verses with the
Cilie poets. The Aeron valley around Tal-sarn was a favourite spot - "the
most precious place in the world", as he once called it. In 1942, Dylan
lived for a short while in Talgarreg, also the home of one of Wales'
best known bardic poets, Dewi Emrys.
